History

Hardakers was established in 1870 by James Hardaker who then passed it onto John Hardaker who later gave the responsibility to Gordon Hardaker before leaving the company finally to Mark Hardaker until 1999 when Mark Hardaker decided to relinquish the family business and sell to Richard Johnson, whom he had previous business dealings with in the past. Already having his own established business in removals, storage and shipping Richard knew of the prestige, history and reputation of Hardakers which was prevalent in and around Hull and surrounding areas.

Hardakers was one of, if not, the first ever removal company in Hull and originally operated using a horse and cart, obviously as time went on and technology improved, Hardakers expanded and developed too. Continuously trading now for nearly 140 years Hardaker is steeped with history and is a well-known name around Hull.

Hardakers is now one of the largest Removal companies in Hull and offers containerised and warehouse storage at secure facilities as well as shipping clients abroad. The business has now decided to expand and diversify thus enhancing the company’s portfolio however our main passion and priority is continuing to grow the business and to develop its family tradition by introducing James Johnson as a director. James has just completed his business degree at Hull University. The company is headed up by Richard Johnson who is the managing Director and Jacqui Johnson who is a director. The staff members are all experienced, competent and fully committed to the business, displaying many differing skills which have served the company for many years.

Lynda Smith who is the administrator is both professional and helpful at all times giving a first class service to all clients and is instrumental in developing the team.

Hardakers continues to work with an impressive portfolio of clients within Hull and surrounding districts, the company is also affiliated with the RHA and the Guild of removers which enhances our reputation.

The family are committed to continuing to develop the business and invest in the staff and to expand and grow the business accordingly. Our future objectives are to continue investing and to diversify to meet the current business needs, the vision is for the company to retain its heritage and local industry needs whilst serving the residents and companies in Hull and surrounding areas with a first class service at all times.
